William Finn and Rachel Sheinkin's The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee brought together a group of wonderfully eccentric competitors in a heartfelt comedy celebrating individuality, vulnerability, and growing up. As William Barfée, the confident yet socially awkward spelling champion with his signature "Magic Foot," I had the opportunity to blend physical comedy, comedic timing, and sincere character work in one of musical theatre's most beloved contemporary comedies. The production embraced the show's unique mix of humor and heart, reminding audiences that every contestant has a story worth telling.
